METALS & MATERIALS

I use a variety of materials at Little Something Studio. The most common are acetate, resin, acrylic, polymer clay, wood, raw brass, and stainless steel.

METALS:

I use mostly stainless steel earring findings to assemble my earrings. I also prefer using stainless steel for the earring post. Please be aware that all stainless steel contains small amounts of nickel. If you have very sensitive ears and have had trouble in the past with irritation, I would caution you to not purchase.

Currently I do not use gold filled earring findings. This is a common metal used in jewelry that is considered hypoallergenic and is more affordable than gold or other precious metals. In the future, I hope to incorporate gold filled metal in my earrings to provide a better option for those who have sensitivity.

There are some earring posts that are made of 925 sterling silver. I also use earring hooks made of zinc alloy, copper alloy, raw brass, and gold plated stainless steel.

Please refer to the particular item’s description for what materials are used.

Please visit the link 'WEAR & CARE' under 'Quick Links' at the bottom of my website. I include each of these metals and materials, give a description, and detail instructions on how to clean and care for them.
